On popular demand, here comes a fresh ranking check for Glu Mobile. Friends and investors of the US mobile gaming developer will probably be delighted to see that the trend seen in early Q4 has continued also in December, i.e. Glu’s games continue to climb the top grossing lists around the world. While the absolute blockbuster positions might be missing, the overall number of games ranked among the top 400 grossing games in our screened countries increases, which bodes well for Q4 revenues.
Being completely out of favour at the moment, we continue to believe that Glu Mobile’s share has more to give, both short- and long-term. We would expect Glu to benefit from an overall positive newsflow around the app sales during the holiday business. Once people will be willing to look beyond the short-term problems (as we have written about in earlier comments), they will notice that Glu Mobile is still in a great position to benefit from the rapidly growing smartphone and tablet markets.
