We have to start this week’s ranking check for G5 Entertainment with a sobering note: It is not even worth to have a separate “Jumpster“- section this time. The game has failed to become the smash-hit some have been hoping for – so far at least. After an initial period with promising rankings among the top grossing iPad game charts in e.g. USA, UK and China, the game is now more or less ranked as any other G5 games. However, the final verdict is not out just yet since Jumpster is G5’s second freemium game, which allows the company to make changes in the game down the road. Critics say G5 has been to “greedy” in the current in-app-purchase approach and the falling rankings are certainly supporting that opinion.
It is probably fair to assume that G5 will make appropriate changes which could easily turn fortunes for Jumpster around in a matter of days. Remember, the game was among the top 10 free apps in the USA for both iPhone and iPad. That says alot and if G5 manages to turn this popularity into Dollars, Jumpster might still become that smash-hit.
(We are screening the app markets of Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, UK and USA).
